7 Things to Remember When You Think You’re Too Old to Try Something New

7 Things to Remember When You Think You're Too Old to Try Something New

“Each new breath that passes through your body offers you a new beginning. Breathe in, and take yours.” – Antasha Durbin

Once upon a time, you felt invincible. Once upon a time, the world was your oyster. Once upon a time, you were young and carefree.

But, those days are long gone…right?

These days, you wake up feeling defeated and stuck. And even though you’d like to try something new and change your life, you think you’re too old and you’ve missed your opportunity.

Sound familiar?

If you’re nodding your head in agreement, then you need to remember these 7 things:

Each new breath that passes through your body offers you a new beginning. Breathe in, and take yours. - Antasha Durbin Click To Tweet

1.) It’s never too late to begin again.

Regardless of who you are, where you’re from, or what you’ve been through in your life, it’s never too late to begin again. Each passing moment carries with it the seed of new beginnings, waiting to be noticed, nurtured and planted. Will you allow the seed of your desires to take root?

2.) Belief determines success.

Your beliefs will either help you or hinder you. Which is true for you? Today, take inventory of your beliefs—are they serving the vision you have for your life? If they aren’t, click here to subscribe to CAJ and get a free 7-day mindset coaching journal. It will help you shift your beliefs so they’re working for rather than against you.

3.) Age is just a number.

It doesn’t matter if you’re 18, 31, 65, or any other age. Age is just a number, and your age only limits you if you let it. Life doesn’t make guarantees, and to make the most of yours never use your age as an excuse for why you can’t do something you want to do.

4.) Everyone is a beginner.

If being a beginner intimidates you, or makes you feel embarrassed, remember: The expert was once a beginner too. No one is born an expert, people achieve expert status through continued progress, dedication, and by way of their daily habits.

If there’s something you’d like to master, start now. Let today be the beginning that will change your future.

5.) Life is a mystery.

Life is a mystery meant to be explored, not a puzzle meant to be pieced together. Make your life a great exploration, and live in daily awe. Try new things, step outside of your comfort zone, and don’t give your joy away by wasting your time doing things you don’t enjoy.

6.) No life experience or job is wasted.

All of your experiences, learnings, and skills you’ve amassed can be repurposed and applied to whatever it is you want to do. No life experience or job is wasted – no matter how small or insignificant it seems. Find ways to integrate your past into your present and future.

7.) Everything is temporary.

We are born in a moment, and we die in a moment. Everything in life is temporary, including your problems and challenges. Don’t get caught up worrying about every little detail. Instead, acknowledge the transient nature of life, and seize each moment as it comes!

Anytime you’re feeling stuck, remember these 7 things. Remember, the best time to make a change and try something new is right now.
